Terms of Use
Last updated: September 2, 2026
These terms are an agreement between you and Benoît Pouzet, independent developer (sole proprietorship), Nouméa, New Caledonia, RIDET 1 545 987.001, publisher of Proofcam, and not with Apple Inc. or Google LLC. By installing or using the app you agree to these terms. Contact: [email protected].
A French version of these terms is available at proofcam.italofa.nc/fr/terms.
The service
Proofcam is a camera app that stamps the date, time, coordinates and address onto your photos and keeps the untouched originals, with their integrity fingerprints, in a vault on your device. It requires no account. Some features depend on third-party services described below and on your device granting the camera and location permissions.
No legal guarantee
Proofcam provides technical timestamping and integrity records. We do not guarantee that a stamped photo constitutes valid, admissible or sufficient evidence in any legal, insurance or administrative proceeding. Whether a photo is accepted as proof always depends on the authority reviewing it, and on factors outside our control.
License
We grant you a personal, non-transferable, non-exclusive license to use Proofcam on Apple-branded devices that you own or control (or, if a Google Play version is offered, on your Android devices), as permitted by the store's usage rules. You may not copy, modify, distribute, sell, rent, reverse-engineer or attempt to extract the source code of the app, except where the law expressly permits it.
Subscriptions
Proofcam offers auto-renewable subscriptions: a monthly plan that starts with a 3-day free trial, and an annual plan. Prices are always shown clearly before you subscribe.
- The free trial converts automatically into a paid monthly subscription at the end of the 3 days, unless you cancel before then. The store reminds you before the trial ends.
- A subscription renews automatically for the same period unless you cancel at least 24 hours before the end of the current period.
- Payment is charged to your Apple or Google account at confirmation of purchase.
- You can manage or cancel anytime from the Manage subscription screen in the app settings, or directly in your store account settings. Deleting the app does not cancel a subscription.
- Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you purchase a subscription, where applicable.
- Refunds are handled by Apple and Google under their own policies; we cannot issue refunds ourselves.
Acceptable use
You may not use Proofcam to produce misleading content, to infringe the rights of others, or to violate any law. You are responsible for the photos you capture and share, including any information you choose to stamp on them. You represent that you are not located in a country subject to a relevant government embargo and that you are not on any restricted-parties list.
Third-party services
The app relies on services operated by third parties under their own terms: Apple and Google (distribution, payment), RevenueCat (subscription management), the OpenStreetMap Foundation's Nominatim service (address resolution; address data © OpenStreetMap contributors), PostHog (anonymous analytics), Sentry (crash reports) and Expo (app updates). You agree to comply with any applicable third-party terms when using the app. How these services handle data is described in our privacy policy.
Maintenance and support
We, and not Apple, are solely responsible for the app and for providing any maintenance and support for it. Apple has no obligation to furnish any maintenance or support. For any question, reach us at [email protected].
Warranty
The app is provided as is, without warranty of any kind beyond what the law requires. To the maximum extent permitted by law, we disclaim all implied warranties. If the app fails to conform to an applicable warranty, you may notify Apple, and Apple will refund the purchase price of the app to you; to the maximum extent permitted by law, Apple has no other warranty obligation with respect to the app.
Liability
To the extent permitted by law, our total liability is limited to the amount you paid for your current subscription period. We, and not Apple, are responsible for addressing any claim relating to the app or your use of it, including product liability claims, claims that the app fails to conform to a legal or regulatory requirement, claims under consumer protection or similar legislation, and claims that the app infringes a third party's intellectual property rights.
Apple as third-party beneficiary
Apple and its subsidiaries are third-party beneficiaries of these terms. Upon your acceptance, Apple has the right, and is deemed to have accepted the right, to enforce these terms against you as a third-party beneficiary.
Consumer rights
Nothing in these terms limits any mandatory rights you have as a consumer under the laws applicable to you, including European Union consumer protection rules. Where these terms conflict with such mandatory rights, your rights prevail.
Governing law, changes and contact
These terms are governed by French law. We may update these terms as the app evolves; the current version is always available at this address, with its date at the top, and significant changes will be reflected here before they apply. Questions: [email protected].
